Sofia, first off thank you for support and being here today, The Fitworld Blog website welcomes you!

How old are you now, what age did you start training and why?

My fitness journey began when I decided to join a gym at age 17. It has now been over a year and a half since I have been taking fitness seriously and I am now at age 19 and have taken part in my first bikini Competition when I was 18 years old. My three older brothers got me into training and taught me that it wasn’t just about cardio and that weights would develop my physique so much more. After a couple of months a personal trainer approached me and mentioned to me that I should consider competing. Since my first competition, I have been training to come back in 100% better than the first time and smash that stage this year.

Tell us a little bit about yourself. A mini description if you will. How did you get started in the fitness area?

I am a 19 year old, 6’0″ fitness enthusiast. I believe in myself and think everyone should have enough confidence to believe they can achieve a goal or dream. I love hot weather and one day would want to move out of London to somewhere where the sun is hot the majority of the year round!

What is going on in your world right now? What are you doing in terms of fitness modelling and Youtube?

In terms of fitness modelling I am just trying to build up my portfolio at the moment. I have created my Youtube account which is now up and running! –

Best fitness moment?

My best fitness moment has to be two things where one led into the other. Beginning weight lifting and taking step on that fitness modelling stage. The gym has kept me focused and given me confidence to be myself. With this I have been able to motivate people through fitness and help increase their confidence, letting them be themselves.

Where does your motivation come from?

My motivation comes from knowing what I can achieve. Me and my brothers are very close, we all motivate each other to do better and be better. Over the year I have changed a lot. I do what makes me happy and to do that you need not to care about others opinions. I look up to fitness athletes such as Paige Hathaway and Dwayne Johnson but, I would never be one of those screaming fans. Why? Because like me, they are just hard working people who know what drives them.

What is your training, nutrition and supplementation like?

My training is going so well. I feel myself getting stronger and better. My supplements are varied. I do take the same supplements each day, varying from Fish Oil to creatine. My nutrition is moderately healthy. I prep all my meals for the day ahead but i do have cheat meals once a week.

Do you have any words of wisdom to inspire younger women starting their own fitness journey?

Be yourself, ignore others opinions because in the beginning they’ll laugh but eventually they’ll copy. The stronger the better, the wiser the healthier.

What was your proudest moment as so far?

Being able to bicep curl 40kg and leg press 300kg.

What are your goals as far as 2016 are concerned?

To gain more muscle and help inspire more people.

What are your 3 favorite things to do outside of training related stuff?

1. Going out with family. 2. Going horse riding. 3. Just seeing friends.

Without thinking to hard, what are the 3 biggest female training myths out there that need to go away asap?

1. Weight lifting will make you look manly .. lol. NO IT WON’T! It will give you all the right curves in the right places.
2. Carbs will make you fat. NO. The right carbs will help you put on lean muscle.
3. Fats will make you fat. NO. The right fats are needed for your hormone balance.

How do you achieve a work/life balance between your training, work and social life?

I work within a gym as a Personal Training so training isn’t really an issue. My social life is a bit different. As at the moment I also work in a bar on a Friday and Saturday night –  I work with friends but I don’t really see it as a job as I do really enjoy it and at the moment it saves me a lot of moment compared to a  night out haha.

What is your philosophy on training? Please share your insights.

There are no secrets. Train hard, life heavy, push your limits. It is all about your mentality, if you say you can do it, you can.

Before we go, what is your top tip that you could give all trainers out there for growing a large social media following?

Be different. Be unique, be yourself! Show people what you get up to. Create a look for yourself, obviously mine if fitness but be engaging!
