6 Weight Gain Tips For Skinny People To Consume More Calories In ONE SITTING! Part 3

bear winter

Welcome back to the article in the series on how to consume more calories in one sitting for individuals who are trying to gain weight. If you enjoyed the last two then I can guarantee you that you’ll like this one because I have collected some tips from professional eating competitors and off of personal tips that I’ve used on myself to pack on some weight as well. I used to weigh 145lb when I first started training and although it took me about 3-4 years to get to 210lb,

I could have reached that number a lot faster if I knew the importance of nutrition earlier on.

I was a skinny kid just like you and I’ve probably made every mistake in the book that a skinny guy trying to gain weight could possibly make. It wasn’t until I started surrounded myself with people who were a lot bigger than me that I started to really understand the importance of eating big to put on size.

These guys I would eat with were HUGE and they didn’t even train! Yes it is true that they did have good genetics, but they were 230lb+, would party a lot, drink a lot of beer and would live that kind of party lifestyle, but they were still huge. It wasn’t until I started eating with these people that I started caring understanding the importance of eating tempo, eating frequency, food choices and stuff like that.

Now I know many of the important tricks in the book and its starting to work for me too, but this isn’t about me. This about you and all of those other people who have so much time gaining weight. I’ve collected the best tips that I could find so that you don’t have to make the same mistakes as me, welcome to part 3.

Lets get into a new chapter.

13) BELIEVE IN YOURSELF AND VISUALIZE YOURSELF EATING THE MEAL

First things first, if you don’t believe that you could actually eat a big meal in one sitting then there is no way in hell that it is actually going to happen, it all starts with the mind. The same thing applies to the weights as well because if you don’t believe that you could hit a standing shoulder press PR then you will feel a bit intimidated in most cases and it most likely won’t go up the way you want it to.

Visualization is key because the more you could see yourself doing something like eating a big plate of food with steaks and stuff of that nature then the more likely it will eventually happen. You have to kind of trick yourself into thinking that this way of eating is normal for you and your body will slowly start to adapt.

14) RECORD YOURSELF TO SEE HOW SLOW YOU’RE REALLY EATING

I used to think I was such a fast eater until I actually recorded myself eating and boy was I ever slow. If you think that you are a fast eater then I suggest that you record yourself because in most cases you would be surprised to see how much of a slow eater you really are.

If you are very serious about gaining weight and becoming a faster eater then record videos of you eating food and overtime try to eat the same meals at a faster pace.

15) KEEP YOUR HEAD MORE UPRIGHT TO MAKE SWALLOWING EASIER

Do you ever notice how when we drink we tend to tilt our head back to swallow the liquid faster? Well the same thing applies to food except you don’t have to put your head that up, but just avoid eating with your head down at all costs because this will make you chew a lot slower and you will just get fuller faster, not to mention that your jaw will fatigue faster. You may not think that you are eating with your head down but like I mentioned above, if you start to record yourself then you will start to notice certain habits that you have and I tend to keep my head down a lot when I eat which isn’t good for weight gain.

You want to be extremely careful to not tilt your head too back because you don’t want to choke on your food either,.

16) MAKE THE MOST OUT OF YOUR UTENSILS

a

Use your utensils to get your next bite ready so that your hand will be ready to serve your next bite when you’ve swallowed the last one. This will save you a lot of time and you will finish your meal sooner because remember that the longer it takes you to eat the meal then the sooner you will be full because once those 15-20 minutes start to creep up on you then you won’t have as much of an appetite anymore.

Make sure that you are cutting your steak or swirling your spaghetti while you are chewing your food because this way you don’t have to wait until your bite is done to do all of that work, it takes a bit of multitasking with your mouth and hands, but it works.

17) TRY TO AVOID LEAVING THE TABLE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE UNTIL YOU FINISH YOUR MEAL

One thing that I’ve noticed with skinnier people is that they tend to find any excuse to leave the table because they subconsciously don’t have it in them to finish the meal. I’ve noticed that the biggest people around rarely ever leave table unless if its an emergency phone call or something, but for the most part they stay at the table until they are completely finished with their meal.

18) STAY FOCUSED, BUT DON’T THINK ABOUT THE FOOD TOO MUCH EITHER

Lastly, you want to make sure that you take all of these tips seriously and stay consistent because any skinny guy could follow these rules for a week or two, but you have to follow it for a longer period of time if you really want to make significant progress with your weight gaining goals.

Its very simple actually, if the numbers on the scale are going up then you are on the right track, that’s really all there is to it. The scale will be moving up too if you follow every single one of these tips from the series but its just a matter of making it a habit.

I like to think of tip 18 like a plank because planks are hard and take a lot of focus, but you want to try your best to not think too much about the pain. The same thing can be said about the food, trying to gain weight with bigger servings in less time is going to feel uncomfortable (especially at first), but nobody ever said that it was going to be easy either.

CONCLUSION:

Congrats! You have made it to the end of the 3rd part of this short series on how to consume more calories in a sitting for skinny people. Now I am sure that you will be a lot better at consuming more calories which will result in the numbers on the scale to climb up a bit. Remember that the whole “hard-gainer” thing is all bullshit because nobody is really a hard gainer, they are just lazy eaters. If you weigh 205 right now and you follow all of these tips then there is absolutely no reason why you shouldn’t be able to gain 1-2lb per month, these numbers are very reasonable and its not too fast either.

Also remember that humans are very good at adapting to a new stimulus so if this style of eating feels a bit strange then ease into it and give it a bit of time because your body will eventually get used to it
