When we talk about masculine traits some of the first things that come to mind are big traps, bald heads, height and heavy weight, but in my opinion almost nothing is more masculine than a deep voice. I have met super big and strong people in the past with high pitched voices and it was funny because it just defeats the whole purpose. On the same token if someone likes their high pitched voice then there is nothing wrong with that either, but if somebody doesn’t like their voice then that could suck, but luckily there are solutions.
Why would somebody want a deeper voice?
There could be millions of reasons as to why somebody would want a deeper voice, but some of the reasons that come first in my head would be because of low self esteem issues, to get the starting role for a movie, sound more commanding for a job interview or to have a deeper voice for a song.
It’s crazy how you can transform your physical appearance, but did you know that there are also ways to deepen your voice? Check out these tips.
1) Talk a lot slower and calm down.

When people talk fast they tend to have more of a high pitched voice because you sound more eager and less grounded. If you really want your voice to sound a lot deeper then slow down your speech, take it down a notch. If you don’t believe me that talking slower makes your voice sound deeper then listen to a rap song and then listen to that same rap song but Chopped & Screwed.
Chopped & Screwed is when a song is slowed down so instead of the song because 3 minutes, it will last about 4-5 minutes. One thing about this style of music is that it could make the person with the highest pitched voice sound like he/she has a very deep voice.
This tip alone is really worth its weight in gold and you don’t have to sound like a slow retard either, just take your time when you talk and avoid sounding like you are in a rush, be in control.
2) Practice deep breathing throughout the day as often as possible and take a deep breath before talking.
The more relaxed you are when talking, the more grounded your speech will turn out and in return your voice will sound a lot deeper as well. Some people like to meditate and I suppose that it could help contribute to a deep voice because you will most likely be a lot calmer with practice, but I just like to take a lot of deep breathes throughout the day instead.
3) Give this voice deepening drill a try for a few minutes.
All you have to do is follow these steps:
1.tilt your head back and keep it in that position
2. Repeat the words “Ping Pong, King Kong, Ding Dong” as slowly as you can, but you want to put some extra emphasis on making the “NG” at the end of all of the words last as slow as humanly possible. The ending of all of these words said in a slow manner will sound like a heavy vibration, but this is good because you are training your voice to become deeper by doing this.
Once you are done saying the 6 words as slowly as possible, you have basically completed one set. I want you to start with 3 sets per day. Since your voice isn’t used to getting trained like this, 3 sets will be more than enough.
BONUS:

Train your neck. Weak neck muscles have an effect on the vocal cords which can tighten up your voice and make your words sound thinner.
This may sound like bro-science, but training the neck can have an affect on the vocal cords and can contribute to a deeper voice if you train your neck on a consistent basis. The neck training can be done with manual resistance, your own bodyweight, free weights or even bands. I am personally a big advocate of using bands for neck work, but that’s just me.
CONCLUSION:
There are many ways to get a deep voice but these the very basic ways to get the job done. Let me know if I missed any tips and let me know how this all worked out for you too.
